Our very own Cookie Monster

I might have created a monster. I have introduced Elise to the delicious world of cookies. Not just any cookies--messy, chocolate cookies! I have a sweet tooth and was having cookies for a snack, and I ended up giving in and sharing with Elise. She LOVED it, and you can tell just how much by the mess she made. She's our very own little Blackbeard. Now, whenever she sees me with something sweet--cookies, chocolate, ice cream, you name it--she crawls over and begs like a little puppy dog or else opens her mouth like a baby bird waiting for me to share with her. Or, if I'm not very forthcoming, she steals it out of my hands, giggles, and then eats it herself!

The next pictures are a week or so old, the first weekend in March we went to the Washington DC Temple with some friends. We ended up going up the night before so that we could stay in a hotel room and have a place to watch the kids while we took turns going to the temple. It was fun, and so much easier than driving up and back the same day. I think it was well worth the money for a hotel room--much easier that way with kids.

Here's our family with the temple in the background. Elise is a messy girl--she's wearing lunch on her clothes and her face!

The weather was wonderful--warm and slightly overcast. It was a good weekend for the temple.

Elise's 1 year old pictures...

Actually, Elise is 13 months old in her pictures, but I got them taken as soon as I could after her 1st birthday. Isn't she cute? I'm not posting all the shots we had taken, but some of my favorites (which is still quite a few!).
Elise with her monkey that our friend Amy made her...

She loves her sunglasses, and they went with the peach dress...

She started to get sad, so what calmed her down? One of her favorite books! She must have a bibliophile for a mom to learn this habit so early...

I LOVE this shot of her!

I liked this close up, but we had to get it in black and white to hide her I'm-learning-how-to-walk bruise on her forehead.

Cute scarf and hat...

Elise got a cute new homemade hat and scarf for her birthday from her aunt Ann. Look how adorable it is! The scarf has a cat face on one end and a tail on the other. Look at the cute little purse and wallet Ann made, too!
Here's Elise trying to walk while pushing her new little doll stroller. Isn't she cute? She likes to stick out her tongue a lot now.
