Elise is getting more and more used to having a little brother at home with each passing day. She loves to hold him and read to him, although she gets a little upset if he doesn't look at the pages when she wants him to. She also loves telling him all her alphabet letters and showing him all her toys. She is less jealous of my time, which is a good thing, and is still quite proud of her little brother. Elise enjoyed having my mom out for a visit and all the extra attention that gave her. She has LOVED being the center of attention lately, and most of her exploits have been attempts to capture the attention of the whole room.
Elise also now knows ALL her alphabet letters and is working on learning her numbers. She also just got a wonderful gift from her Abuela and Abuelo--a
Leapfrog fridge phonics letter toy that tells her the sound each letter makes as she puts it on the magnetic board on the fridge. She LOVES it and is now practicing all her letter sounds, too. She'll be reading before long!
Here are some pictures of Elise during the past two weeks:
Elise decided one evening to run around the house like a wild child and shoot herself in the face, repeatedly, with a water gun...she was soaked pretty quickly!
On my first day at home alone with both children, I couldn't quite make the time to get Elise down for a nap, so instead she read herself to sleep in between the chair and the ottoman...it only took a few pages before she was fast asleep.
Here's Elise playing with her new fridge phonics toy from Abuela and Abuelo...she loves it!
Elise begged to hold Joseph all by herself...this is the best we could do. She doesn't like how mommy usually insists on helping hold up his head when she gets to hold him.
